DAISY Airport Information System – DAISY Main

The DAISY Airport Information System is administered via DAISY Main.  This is the windows application which is used to centrally update all flight movements and linked additional information.

The reporting modules enable management, finance, CAA Statistics reports and Environmental Noise Monitoring Statistics reports to be easily produced.

Searching of all historical, current and forward flight movements can be via date or wildcard text searching such as aircraft registration, operator ICAO etc.

PPR Log
Flight Movements are entered into the DAISY PPR, normally by Operations but could be by any other person or department with appropriate admin security rights.  These movements are entered much like in a diary fashion, so can be daily, weekly, future movements, or via scheduled flights.  These movements may, or not, be included on the public FIDS.

 

Cargo Log
Cargo Flight Movements are an extension to PPR, complete with additional fields.  These movements are not included on the public FIDS.

Dispatch Admin
Passenger movements are entered into the Dispatch log and can then be used for later analysis, CAA stats, management and accounting requirements.

Finance
Flight, passenger and cargo movements are filtered through to the finance module which allows for invoicing of movements, passenger, cargo, ramp charges, fuel etc.  The output from this module can be interfaced directly with the accounting software such as Sage in order to create sales order or invoices directly.  All strictly under the control of finance department.

Noise
Section 106 Environmental Noise Monitoring Statistics are automatically collated, based on individual flight movements, noise monitor(s) and weather information at the time of the movement.  The output from this can then be used to create Section 106 reports.

Search
The extended search option allows fast access to a range of system look ups.

    Flight movement information is used by many different departments and agencies. Maintaining a central and easy to operate flight information system, and FIDS, for keeping track of flight movements is essential for any airfield, airport or flying club.

    Database and Airport Information System, or better known by the acronym of DAISY, provides an independent, flexible and easy to use stand-alone Airport Flight Information System and is ideal for either single user operation such as at flying clubs and smaller airfields, through to full network operation with multiple users at airports.

    DAISY Airport Information System

    Other departments within the airfield could also have easy access to real-time flight information such as Refuellers, Ground Handling, MT, Hangers, RFFS, Air Traffic Engineers, Transport, Facilities, Health & Safety Officer and Environmental Noise monitoring. In addition, external agencies and remote staff may also access the flight movements through a secure DAISY Web Extranet.

    Flight Movements are easily input into the system by Air Traffic or Operations in the form of Prior Permission Request (PPR), which can be either individual movements or scheduled. Flexibility is an important component in design and DAISY provides this key link to bringing together essential information within the various airport departments and services, quickly and in real-time.

    DAISY can be configured and scaled to run as a basic single user system for small airfields, through to full airport network functionality to both airside and landside operation. It can also be linked to ATC (Air Traffic Control) Flight Systems such as the Stonefield Systems AIMS (AFTN and OFD), and other third party software including Cirrus Research Noise Event Monitoring, Vaisala Monitoring Systems and Sage Accounts for Billing and Finance.

    An intranet and extranet is also included for onsite staff information such as PPR Log and Cargo Log through to Passenger FIDS and remote agencies including Special Branch, Customs and Emergency Services.
